The movie begins with Jagdish (Vijay), a captain in the Indian Army, returning to Mumbai from Kashmir. On his arrival, he is forced by his parents and younger sisters into seeing Nisha (Kajal Aggarwal), a girl of their choice for their son to get married to. At the bride-viewing ceremony, Jagdish makes up excuses to avoid marrying her, such as commenting that she is old-fashioned. On the contrary, Nisha turns out to be a college-level boxer who is completely modern in outlook. Jagdish realises this and falls for her, which she reciprocates. One day, while hanging out with his police officer-friend Balaji (Sathyan), Jagdish witnesses the explosion of a bus in which they had travelled. He captures the man who planted the bomb in that bus and soon finds out that he is a mere pawn (a sleeper cell) whose only role was in planting the bomb and that the terrorist group he belongs to have planned various such attacks in the city in a couple of days. Enlisting the help of his fellow Army men and Balaji, Jagdish manages to thwart these attacks. When the leader of the terrorist group (Vidyut Jamwal) finds out about the role of Jagdish in the failure of the terrorist attack, he begins to target the families of the Army men (except Jagdish), kidnapping someone close to them. When Jagdish finds out, he substitutes one of the people to be kidnapped with his younger sister. Using his pet dog and his sister's dupatta, he manages to reach the terrorists' hideout, rescuing his sister (who was about to be killed after Jagdish's bluff was exposed) and the others and killing the terrorists. With this attack too failed, the terrorist leader decides to target Jagdish himself. He asks Jagdish to surrender to him, failing which there would be more terrorist attacks. Jagdish decides to sacrifice his life and hatches a plan with his fellow Army men. Jagdish meets the leader in a ship, which has been rigged with a bomb planted by Jagdish's henchman. When he finds out about the leader's plan however (which is to expose Jagdish's Army team as terrorists), he fights the leader and escapes with him in a boat. After the ship explodes, he kills the leader. The movie ends with Jagdish and his team returning to Kashmir

On 1 January 2011, a sudden bomb blast occurs in London, killing several people. The scene shifts to the same place after exactly a year, where a blind man Kenny (Vikram) lays flowers on the memorial and mourns someone's death during the bomb blast. He is then given some secret details by a mysterious woman. Kenny then takes a taxi driven by Satyan (Santhanam) who is a comical Tamil guy. He drops Kenny at a place and waits for him to return. But Kenny actually goes inside to kill someone. He kills him and throws him down. Seeing the corpse, Satyan flees. During this entire scene, Kenny is shown to produce a sound from his mouth, to find his way, which is later shown as echolocation. Later Kenny is shown to play piano in a local church, and he is blind he has so many people who care for him. In the meantime, Kenny carries out two more murders, taking the same taxi driven by theinnocent Satyan, following instructions from the mysterious woman.
Sarah Vinayagam (Amy Jackson), a British-born Indian girl, wins the Miss London title, and in order to build her social profile, she goes to Kenny's church and acts like helping out there. Initially Kenny does not like her, but eventually they become friends. Sara's father is a doctor, who supports Kenny as he is blind. Police officer Veerakathi (Nasser), a Eela Tamil, is the officer in charge of the murders. As the autopsy of the murdered victims take place under Sara's father, Veerakathi visits him and comes to know about Kenny, who is admitted there for a small accident. Verrakathi initially suspects Kenny, but is not convinced that he is the murderer. As Satyan is found on all the murder spots, the police arrest him, suspecting that he must be having a connection with the murders. But Satyan manages to find a picture of Kenny from a local newspaper and informs Veerakathi. Satyan is released and he meets Sara, and both of them go to a place (which she comes to know from Kenny's phone, which he misses during a fight with the local thugs). They reach there in time to see Kenny almost kill a guy named Victor (a steel company owner). But Kenny flees the scene after seeing them and takes Satyan's taxi to escape. As he is blind, he runs the taxi into a river along with Satyan and Sara. Later they are shown to be in a river bank shocked. Sara and Satyan try to escape, where they see Geetha (Lakshmi Rai), who confronts Sara and Satyan, and reveals the real identity of Kenny.
Kenny is actually a RAW agent in India, whose real name is Sivakumar. He, along with Sarath (Jagapati Babu), complete various missions for the Indian government. Siva and Sarath are very close friends. Meantime Siva gets married to Meenakshi (Anushka Shetty), who is an Eye Doctor in Delhi. They both have same views on marriage that, one should first meet someone and then become friends and then fall in love and then get married. But as their marriage happens in a hurry, they decide that, they must first become friends. As time goes by, they become closer to each other and almost become the complete pair. Meenakshi decides to express her love to Siva on the New year's Day (which turns out to be His birthday).
In the Meantime, Sharath handles a case where an Indian Army secret (a flowchart) about a WMD goes missing. Siva shows interest in this case and he goes to London (on a different name,where a former Indian Policeman named Kenny helps him) to find an important clue, as Sarath is injured during a fight. But Siva is shocked to find his plan go terribly wrong and is now chased by the London police, following a few incidents. But now he finds a shocking truth about Sarath. It is shown that Sarath is the mastermind behind the missing Flowchart and he sells it to a terrorist group, with some help from the London militants. Siva finds this entire plot and asks Sarath to surrender. But he later learns that Meenakshi also has come to London along with Sarath (to surprise Siva on his Birthday and Propose to him). So to save her, Siva abides by Sarath's order and he comes to a place (with Kenny), where a sudden bomb blast occurs, killing Kenny and Meenakshi and Blinding Siva. The actual wife of Kenny is Geetha, who decides to take revenge on those responsible for the death of Kenny and Meenakshi. She forms a team with Siva, and joins him in a School where he learns Echolocation from Daniel Kish an expert echolocator. After that, Geetha tells the people who caused the disaster to Kenny and kills them when Mr. Veerekatthy finally understood why Kenny was killing them. After electrocuting Sharath in Victor's (Sharath's friend) factory, the Union Minister requested Kenny to come back to India as Shivakumar but however, he rejects the request as Kenny's former identity as Shivakumar had 'died' and he is going to spend his life for Meenakshi.

Thenali (Kamal Hassan) is a man who fears anything and everything due to his earlier life in Sri Lanka. Dr. Panchabhootham (Delhi Ganesh) and his assistant (Ramesh Khanna), who are the doctors treating Thenali, are jealous of a relatively junior doctor Dr. Kailash (Jayaram) getting all the media attention. They decide to derail Dr. Kailash's success by sending Thenali over to him. Soon after their first appointment, Dr. Kailash heads to his home in Kodaikanal on a vacation with his wife Jalaja (Devayani) and his two children. Dr. Kailash tells Thenali to wait until after the vacation before his therapy can begin, but Panchabhootham asks for Thenali to go meet Kailash while on vacation.The expected happens. Thenali falls in love with Janaki (Jyothika), the younger sister of Dr. Kailash, which was vehemently opposed by the latter. The whole film is about how Dr. Kailash goes mad with the antics of Thenali and even begins to suspect that his wife has an affair with Thenali, as she has a soft corner for the latter. He even tries to kill Thenali by tying him to a tree with a time bomb, which Thenali (not knowing it is a bomb) removes and puts it in the doctor's house, causing it to explode and Dr. Kailash, seeing this, suffers a paralytic attack.Evantually, Thenali marries Janaki and cures Dr. Kailash through shock treatment by bringing Meena, B. H. Abdul Hameed and K. S. Ravikumar and makes Meena act as his Sri Lankan wife.

Thillaanaa Mohanambal (English: The Danseuse Mohanambal) is a 1968 Tamil-language film directed by A. P. Nagarajan starring Sivaji Ganesan and Padmini in the lead roles. The film is based on the novel of same name written by Kothamangalam Subbu which was published in a popular Tamil Magazine 'Ananda Vikatan' as weekly episodes.Sikkal Shanmuga Sundaram (Sivaji Ganesan) is a devoted Nadeswaram player but a short tempered sensitive character. He meets Mohanambal (Padmini) a Bharatnatyam dancer and they both fall in love with each other. However Sundaram's ego prevents him to move further with his love when she challenges him to play a Thillana on his Nadeswaram while she will dance for it. Mohana's mother, an influential and mercenary woman wants her daughter to marry a rich man so that she can be richly settled. But Mohana who is in love with Sundaram does not obey her mother, and this creates a rift between them both. Sundaram does not understand that Mohana loves him, and not knowing she has a great devotion and love for him and his talent, he decides to leave the country along with Jil Jil Ramamani(Manorama), a folk dancer whom he considers his sister. But Mohana provokes him, saying that he is a coward and not confident about his talent, and hence he has decided to go away. But Mohana's intention is to stop him and make him drop his decision so that she can prove her love for him and as expected Sundaram accepts the challenge and stays.In a temple, Sundaram plays the Thillana and Mohana dances for it. Since both performed at their best there was neither defeat nor success for both. Sundaram crowns Mohana "Thillana Mohanambal". Both Sundaram and Mohana come close because of this incident but Sundaram is stabbed with a poisonous knife by a man who is behind Mohana.

Thoothukudi is gangster film set in the Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu.The Song composing and Background score is done by Praveen Mani.The movie is about the good-hearted Maha (Harikumar), who ends up in jail for bashing a dishonest cop who demands bribe. In the prison, he comes across Lingam (Rahman), a dreaded gangster. They develop difference of opinions and end up fighting each other. Their enmity continues even outside the prison. Eventually Lingam inflicts bleeding injuries on Maha, who pleads for mercy.

Lingam rushes Maha to hospital. Maha recovers and develops an affinity towards Lingam. They become thick friends and Maha joins Lingam as his henchman.
Maha resolves to bump off Katathurai, another gangster who threatens to kill Lingam. The rest is all but how he achieves his mission and also put to right the dishonest policemen.Packed with violence all through, the scenes involving Karthika are the major relief. She romances Harikumar.

Music by Pravin Mani is worth a mention for the background score is peppy and sustains the tempo in the movie.

Jeevan's cinematography and Sai Suresh's editing are other major highlights.

The director has managed to bring alive the reality and resonance of the town the film takes its name after.

Had Thoothukudi released before the likes of Pattiyal and Naalai, it could have made a difference.
